Ice in your boots=time to come inside

The Shaw household woke up this morning to about 6-7 inches of snow! It took about 2 hours to get everybody fed, dressed and out the door, but we had a blast......Daddy bought 3 sleds from Ace Hardware two days ago in preparation.

David and I become like little kids when it comes to the possiblity of snowfall. As children we grew up getting a few inches every other year or so and it was practically "magical" to us. We both have such vivid memories of sledding down hills near our house with our siblings and neighborhood friends, making snowmen and having snowball fights and best of all, not going to school! It definitely ranks up in the top ten of favorite childhood memories, so we were so excited to get to experience that excitement with our kids. All three came running into our room at about 6:30am ready to go. Here are just a few pictures....more to come in the next day or two. It will be sticking around for a few days since the temp will remain in the 20's to lower 30's. Thank you for the rain (now snow) boots, Grandma! They really have come in handy! Now we are enjoying the blessing of a warm house with a fire and cups of hot cocoa....memories in the making!!
We read a few verses of scripture this morning about snow. Here is a sampling:
"He spreads the snow like wool and scatters the frost like ashes"
Psalm 147:16
"As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes our from my mouth: it will not return empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."
Isaiah 55:9-11
"Cleanse me with hyssop and I will be clean: wash me and I will be whiter than snow."
Psalm 51:7

What a beautful sight to see you enjoying God's handiwork; I love all the scripture about snow, too. Maybe it will snow in Marietta when you are here!

Blessings,
