Maggie reading to Sarah
(Sarah loved having a "big" sister for a few days)

Luke and Andrew had fun playing with the blocks carved by the Burke boys

Our Valentine's Dinner together:)

It snowed about 1-2 inches on Saturday
(The Burkes brought a little bit of the Ohio weather with them:)

It melted by the end of the day...but it was a perfect "wet" snow to build a snowman in the front yard.

Aunt Kimmy, Maggie, the kids and I went on an adventure walk in the woods behind our house one day. We discovered quite a treasure.......a deer skull!!

We had a wonderful time visiting with the Burke family a few weeks ago. "Aunt Kimmy" (David's cousin), "Uncle Al", Maggie (16) and Gideon (1) came to Wake Forest for a marriage conference. The other 7 children stayed behind in Ohio with their grandparents. We wished we could have visited with them all! What an amazing family! It was such a blessing having them here. In just a short stay with us, they taught us so much. Sarah learned to braid, make yarn dolls, recite many of the new testament books through song, and even eat the crust of her sandwich bread! The boys had so much fun making new creations with the handmade blocks that the Burke boys made for them. We had such fun playing games and just visiting with them in front of the fireplace at night. Thank you to the Burkes for such wonderful memories!!

Backyard Fun

We have had such fun over the past several days in the snow. It really has felt like we are on a winter vacation in the mountains. We found a really neat trail in our backyard that we have used for all our sledding downhill runs. If we owned a pair of skiis I am sure David and I would have given it a try! Amazing what 1/2 a foot of snow and lots of land to explore has done to us!
